Tool Bank, Baltimore

This was a volunteer project done for the Tool Bank in Baltimore. A collaboration of a handful of Home Depot  store artists and a wide variety of blue shades created the murals on this wall. The tool bank is a place where people who need tools for a short period of time for their project can come and rent said tools. There are tools from Drills to lawn rakes and tape measures. The list goes on as we had all pitched in to help bring this building to life inside and out!
wrenches done by yours truly, though i think the screw drivers are pretty graphically amazing.

First time working with spray paint and i managed to doodle out a shovel as my first drawing.

Didnt really do this one but i was told to darken in the hammer which was once made to look like a cloud.

Before we added sod...and all the drawings in view.

After sod was laid, sure looks a heck of a lot nicer! :)

Aprons Galore

I had a little bit of time [two days] to work on some aprons that people had been pestering me to get to them and these were their stunning results :) working on these aprons is a lot like working on an unprimed orange canvas. Hahaha...

Lisa's Garden Club Apron adorned with Cone flowers and bees!
After being pestered day after day to make this apron real, i finally found the spare time to work on it!
My last apron was getting a bit ragged so i decided to paint my pup on mine real quick.

My first apron with the adorned Rue <3
an apron i did for the manager of the Reisterstown store a while ago.

The Depot

I suppose i havent posted any of my latest works in a while. A lot of things have been going on and somehow i have accumulated a decent amount of work to post it here for some future references. I work for Home Depot as an associate as well as a sign captain for the store. It sounds like a cushy job, but being that "hard work" was always drilled into me... it already makes me feel guilty enough that i have the chance to do this awesome stuff over packing down and straightening aisles. Though people think its a "cushy" job, their is still a good amount of stress that still goes with it when someone gives you an impossible deadline and you end up forking over the worst thing in the world. Some might not care too much but for me... well i hate to show bad work because i believe it just reflects poorly on my skill. Especially when id love to pursue art more than forever working in retail. But i take it as a step in the right direction at least and this is where i'll move on to the current images below.

This unique image was made in part for an "end cap" idea. All end caps with product that fails to sell well go to the "grave yard." Not sure if that was suppose to be less detailed, but i thought it would be fun to make something creepy for it. The layout for the store will eventually go on the bottom and be made by someone else [how hard is it to draw boxes? I practically did the hard part XD]

Associates and Supervisors of the month get their own custom painted apron of their choice of subject. I think we know the obvious subject of this one here:

I really enjoyed making this part inparticular just because it looks like pvc pipe!

The first board ive ever created that doubles not only as a piece of work but also as a bulletin board too! Complete with molding that i had hand cut on my own [Ahh the blisters on my hands! hahaha] Well worth it, yes? Im certainly inspired .hahaha

And well.. this really isnt something i created, but hey, after all this work i do i love that i still have enough energy to wear this guy out!
keep checking back for more updates! Other new files can be found at these locations as well:

Homer, Your Home Depot Paint Pal!

So recently I had left my old position as a Merchandiser to work in store at my local home depot to work as an associate with the side catch of also being able to make art for the store. My first real show of skills other than the couple of aprons i had done for my friends on MET?
These lovely homers for the paint department made on insulated foam board.

and just to show a couple of aprons i had done (but obviously are copyrighted to their original owners):

Hopefully more to come soon!

A Happy Engagement!

So i can finally reveal the last of the 3 panels that were made prior to Jackie and Steve's 1 year anniversary! The corner scrolls were inspired from a video from a museum in Washington D.C. we all went to and all and all Steve wanted kind of a swirly whimsy/celtic feel to the borders. So starting from the bottom is the root, middle the leaves, and the top the flowers. :) I didnt want the wording to get too lost in it all to draw the attention away but i feel it all came together rather nicely :)
Congratulations Jackie and Steve!
