Practice makes perfect...

Here are some things ive been doodling up in my spare time for a project... Playing with atmosphere, perspective and texture brushes.

Getting in with Christmas!

Ive noticed now that it has become a trend of me to wait a little in between posts to show the things I've done in the past couple months. Ive already visited with the family and have been getting back into my doodling habits, especially now that the atmosphere in the store i am at has been a little dead lately [especially during Ravens games...]. So here are some things ive done for the store as well as my co-workers. Granted some of them are not very original, but all and all, were done for the sake of the kids. Anything related to Hello Kitty or Disney can obviously go to them as far as credit. Call it fan art as you wish... it was not 'sold' but as i said before...a gift.

Anyway! Lets have at it shall we?

Speed paint!

Some things I have doing for quite some time now with my art. I learned to draw, I learned to use a wacom tablet, and i picked up many many different techniques to get the end result that I wanted. Granted this has taken me YEARS to do, I was halted in creativity to try and see a way to push my style a bit further,  i just didn't understand how. Ive seen concept after concept and had wondered how people were to get creative enough to do these painting so quickly. Eventually I had my eye opener when applying for an internship with a company . "Do up four thumbnails of environments wide ranging in their location." with an jaw dropping video by FZDSchool on youtube. I cant say I wasnt a bit overwhelmed but I was given a chance to strut my stuff and I was going to give it a shot! What did i have to lose really? Someone saying "no, thats not what we're looking for."? So during this little exercise I managed to learn some things that I always wanted to [because my cruddy little school did not have courses like these like I wanted.] Eitherway, these are the results for my first tries at speed painting... keep in mind I have a lot still to learn and grow upon but ultimately thought I did alright with this!

Each took me about 45 minutes to complete... except the thumbnails which were very quick!

Character Images [New]

Some quick character action sheets i did of some of the newbies to the group that have not been featured on the website yet. All either sketched up and scanned into the computer to be digitally colored or were drawn on the computer via Wacom tablet use and photoshop.

Catching Up

Sorry everyone!
I've been working like crazy at work these days and haven't had much time to sit down and focus on posting and organizing the work I've made in the past couple of months. Now with Hurricane Sandy arriving at our door and power still being on, i have all the time in the world to catch up [that is...until the power is out!] So i am sorry for the delay and hope you enjoy all the new work! :)

Silver glitter included!

Rooster Decor

Portrait of my Co-workers granddaughter. After this wore out from the usual wear and tear, my associate cut the image out and her granddaughter cried and made her put it back on. Poor thing!

Moosie tissue box/plant holder with a winter theme.

Image was taken on cell phone but basically is as it says.

Quickly rushed this out only for it to be thrown out with my nicer 50% off Trees and Shrubs sign.

My Building Better Health board.

HECK YES WE DO [Install water heaters]!

A quick luau sign done with water colors [something quick that also is ultimately crappy on regular paper] it got the point across though...

Little Mummy Homer for trick or treat ideas .

Fall-Esque

A quick mural like image done of the inner harbor in baltimore for the cashiers. Purple for the Ravens theme they wanted.

Dressed this sign up a bit with some reflections on the numbers and some nifty snow flakes and snow on the slogan.
